$163 billion in gains in 2021, the year of all records for crypto!

Chainalysis, an analytics company, released intriguing statistics on its blog, stating that cryptocurrency investors had around $162.7 billion in realized gains in 2021. In comparison, the amount for 2020 was $32.5 billion, a 400% increase over the previous year. According to Business Insider, that was due to bitcoin has reached new highs.

Revenue leaders across countries are US investors, who earned almost $47 billion, more than their colleagues in the UK, Germany, Japan, and China. Also, British investors profited by $8.2 billion. Investors got a total return of $162.7 billion in 2021, up from $32.5 billion in 2020, according to the Chainalysis analysis.

German, Japanese, Chinese, and Turkish investors were also in the lead. Owners of crypto-assets from Eastern European countries and Russia were also among the top, receiving over $4.3 billion last year, $2.77 billion from Ukraine, and $1.8 billion from Poland. According to the research, Belarusian crypto-investors earned more than $823 million, placing them at the bottom of the top 40 by this criteria.

Following Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other cryptocurrencies, the total capitalization fell to $640 billion. Bitcoin’s value decreased from a high of $69,000 in November 2021 to $33,000 in early May 2022, displaying severe volatility once more. According to market analysts, the decline will continue throughout the summer.
