The global Opera browser has announced support for 8 new blockchains. Available blockchains in the browser include Bitcoin (BTC), Polygon (MATIC), and Celo. This step is phenomenal and opens new perspectives in the world of Web 3.0. Thus, Opera became an example to follow among other browsers.

Newly available blockchains in Opera

Bitcoin, Polygon, Solana, StarkEx, Ronin, Celo, Nervos, and iXO — all these blockchains are now available in the Opera browser. This was announced by the company’s team in its blog on March 30, 2022. “Ordinary Internet users may not be ashamed to embark on Web3, but thanks to the integration of Solana, Polygon, and others into our mobile browser, they can now access these technologies through security and familiarity with a browser that offers a special Web3 experience.” — said Vice President of Opera Johann Arnesen.

The main purpose of implementing blockchain systems in the Opera browser is easier access to decentralized programs and services, so-called dApps. In particular, the Opera team focused mostly on the Solana blockchain. This is since the system is not only promising and has low transaction costs, but also uses Proof-of-Stake technology. Thanks to this technology, the energy efficiency of the blockchain is much higher than that of blockchains that use Proof-of-Work. Another blockchain system with a list of energy efficiency is Polygon, which is characterized by its scalable and low-cost environment.

Moreover, the Opera browser provides access to the Ethereum Tier 2 ecosystem via StarkEx. We remind you that StarkEx is a blockchain system based on StarkWare and the DeversiFi decentralized exchange. With this integration, users get a hundred times faster transaction support than in the standard Ethereum system.

Among the other blockchain systems offered, such as Nervos, IXO, Celo, and Bitcoin, Opera also provides access to the Ronin system. We remind you that this program contains the widespread blockchain game Axie Infinity.

Integration of cryptocurrencies in Opera browser

It should also be added that Opera began its journey to develop cryptocurrencies in July 2018. Then the company launched its first browser with an integrated Ethereum wallet and Web3 support. Jorgen Arnesen commented on the action: “Since we started working in Web3 in 2018, we have established partnerships with blockchains […] to accelerate the evolution of cryptocurrencies from concept validation to mass implementation. […] They [users] should have a great user experience and real benefits. ” Therefore, in January 2022, Opera will release a beta version of the new standalone Crypto Browser, the main advantages of which are support for dApps and an integrated crypto wallet.

Another innovation of Opera was the development of its source of content called “Crypto Corner”, which aims to broadcast major events in the world of cryptocurrencies, current prices, market events, and more. Another equally important function of this service is access to educational information for everyone.

The Belgian website bit4you offers you many cryptocurrency services, including trading in more than 45 types of tokens, information on all trading indicators, and current news. The resource also provides an opportunity to learn and practice your skills in the field of digital assets. To do this, bit4you gives each user access to demo mode and 100,000 USDT.
