The director of Gladiator and Alone on Mars will produce a documentary on the history of Ethereum

In an interview about the book, Russo stated that Vitalik Buterin stumbled across the name Ethereum on Wikipedia while working on his blockchain project in 2013 and remembered a novel he had read as a kid.

According to the authors, the documentary’s crowdfunding campaign surpassed its goal of 750 ETH, garnering a total of 1,035.96 ETH for $1.9 million as of July 16, 2021. The directors spoke with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum Foundation executive director Aya Miyaguchi in the spring, according to the funding website.
