Ukraine relies on a sale of NFT to rebuild its cultural sites
Modern art has advanced to unprecedented heights. Nowadays, a digital painting or sculpture might fetch even more than the original. How exactly does this happen, and how might Ukraine draw NFT for post-war reconstruction?
The first NFT-war museum was established in Ukraine to chronicle Russia’s crimes and transmit funds for humanitarian purposes. This is according to Ukraine’s State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection. The NFT-museum combines blockchain technology, art, and historical fact fixation. According to the department, it will aid in the propagation of the facts about Russian war atrocities against Ukrainians.
NFT War Museum
All artworks are provided digitally as NFT-tokens that users can purchase. The collection’s coins are transferred to the official Ethereum wallet for the Ministry of Humanitarian Needs of Ukrainians. The first part of the NFT collection consists of pictures of Ukrainian artists. Thereafter the works of artists from around the globe will be brought to the museum by world designers and designers. “The entire world should be aware of the Russian Federation’s war crimes against Ukraine,” the State Inspectorate stated.
Ukraine DAO
Ukraine DAO, founded by activist Olena Shevchenko, digital artist collective PleasrDAO, and Pussy Riot participant Nadya Tolokonnikova, collected $2,258 ETH ($6.75 million) in an auction for the Ukrainian flag as an NFT. 1,000 LOVE tokens will be given to those who contributed as a reminder of the world’s ongoing humanitarian needs.
“Ukrainian Renaissance”
Isobar Ukraine, a creative agency, developed a series of realistic NFT- postcards with Ukraine’s most shelled cities. The main idea is that people send their loved ones postcards from various locations so that they can recall the old streets and admire the aesthetics of buildings, churches, and other locations. Because of the war, some cities and streets are destroyed or shattered. So, these postcards in Ukraine have lost their charm — it is hard to gaze at certain locations now. The Isobar Ukraine team is certain that its NFT will be able to make the city lists appear peaceful. The proceeds from the sales will be used to rebuild these cities. The initiative is taking place on the OpenSea marketplace, so everyone can join the Ukrainian Renaissance.
“Mom, I see war”
The “Mom, I See War” initiative seeks to depict how Ukrainian children are affected by Russian military aggression. The authors are initially collecting children’s drawings on Ukraine’s war and peace. In total, they collected over 2,000 drawings. They will make a manifest collage that will be auctioned off during the NFT. Then, all the participants will be establishing a nonprofit foundation to support children who have suffered as a result of the war. As a result, the money from the selling of NFTs will also be used to assist these kids.
Symbols of liberty and peace
Hiveon, a company that creates equipment for cryptocurrency mining, has also released a useful NFT collection. Hiveon also asked its nearly 2 million users to support Ukraine. The NFT collection consists of such elements as “Cocktail of Freedom,” “Dove of Peace”, etc. Hiveon intends to gather a total of 100 ETH (about $250,000). Then, the revenues from the sales will be given to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine’s official cryptocurrency wallet.
