Warner Music arrives in the metaverse of The Sandbox to create a world dedicated to music
Through a new agreement with Warner Music Group (WMG), The Sandbox hopes to establish a virtual music universe. In a January 27 statement, Warner Music is making its first foray into the NFT metaverse environment with this endeavor. Its objective, according to a statement, is to create an engaging social experience that can empower Warner Music artists. The Sandbox might provide artists another way to engage with their audience, experiment with virtual entertainment, and establish new money streams across a worldwide community.
As you know, WMG is one of the music industry’s market leaders. They have hundreds of prominent artists under their management, including Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Madonna, Cardi B, and David Guetta. So, Warner recently announced a significant agreement with NFT marketplace Blockparty. This collaboration will provide artists and composers with access to Web 3.0 and NFT technologies. According to Blockparty’s CEO, the company has established a new class of digital art, music, and sports objects that will allow users to share and explore the new environment together. Moreover, the major record label will use its virtual plots of land (LANDs) in The Sandbox to develop a facility that will function as both a music-themed theme park and a performance venue for its performers.
However, Warner Music has not revealed which artists will perform in the metaverse. As technology and consumption habits grow, artists must have access to any resource available to participate in the virtual economy. This collaboration will broaden WMG’s reach by allowing creators to create digital experiences using NFT.
It is worth mentioning that Sandbox’s founders have previously collaborated with over 200 companies and personalities, including Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, Adidas, Atari, Steve Aoki, and Smurfs. Digital land (especially the NFT tokens LAND at The Sandbox) remains in great demand. Thus, the Sandbox (SAND) has a continuously high trade volume, making the platform one of the most competitive metaclasses competing with Decentraland (MANA). According to the previous data, the Sandbox will organize a LAND sale in March 2022. The initiative allows music fans to purchase LAND nearby to WMG property.
